Through funding from a grant through the Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad program, Michigan State University coordinated a study trip for U.S. teachers to visit Costa Rica for five weeks. The trip aims to provide teachers an opportunity to enhance their global understanding through a language and cultural immersion experience in Costa Rica centered around the country's progress towards achieving the UN Millennium Development Goals. As part of the program, teachers will develop curriculum projects that capture these themes for K-12 students. Additionally, the teachers will form a professional learning community aimed at collaborating to develop and assess strategies to address global issues with students.
